Community Ride: Waterfront Trail

DATE:  Saturday, August 12, 2017 @ 9:30 am  (115 registered)

MISSISSAUGA BIKE CHALLENGE:  This Ride is designated as a Mississauga Bike Challenge Ride to encourage riders to complete as many kilometres as possible, to help reach our collective #Canada150 goal of 150,000 km.  This achievement will earn us 1000 trees to be planted in Mississauga as a legacy project!  UPDATE: It worked!  We added 30 more trees subsequent to the Waterfront Trail Ride, thanks to over 110 participants!

START:  Lakeshore Plaza (Metro grocery store) at 406 Lakeshore Road East (map).  Parking is central to the route.

END:  Dairy King (website), 341 Lakeshore Road East (map; on south side).  FREE ice cream, 11:00 am -1:30 pm.

DISTANCE:  This is a maximum 30.8 km ride.  Reduce your distance and enjoy a shorter ride if you choose!  Either ride East, all the way to Etobicoke Creek Trail and back (15.4 km), or ride West, all the way to Rattray Marsh (Lorne Park) and back (15.4 km), OR do Both!  All route options will be fully marshalled for the entire distance.  Riders who wish to ride on their own, or make stop-overs, should note the appropriate Cue Sheet (further below)

FEATURES:  View the Waterfront Trail website.  See images below and images of Lakeview, Port Credit and Clarkson.  NOTE: Ride follows the Waterfront Trail as far west as the entrance to Rattray Marsh.  The Southdown Ride includes the Waterfront Trail west of Rattray Marsh to the Mississauga border.
