Volunteer Marshals - Community Rides

As the MCAC Community Rides have grown in numbers, we are grateful to draw on some of our more experienced riders to assist with marshalling.  We provide hi-viz orange vests (and wash them!) for those who can help out and we also equip the marshals with walkie-talkies.

MARSHAL TRAINING:  MCAC hosted the first Volunteer Marshal Orientation session in July 2016, with the assistance of the City's Active Transportation Division, to review techniques and procedures for volunteer riding marshals and safety messaging in group ride situations.

We rode the previous Applewood Ride (13.3 km route) while we discussed and practiced various marshalling procedures.  A Safety Booklet is in preparation by City staff.

*THANK YOU* to all who attended the 1st session!  A new comprehensive training session will be planned for Spring 2017, including First Aid / CPR training (July 24)!
