Citizen volunteers advising City Council on cycling issues

Community Ride: Mississauga City Centre

DATE:  Saturday, September 23, 2017 @ 10:00 am  (70 registered)

START / END:  Mississauga Valley Community Centre at 1275 Mississauga Valley Blvd (map).  FREE ice cream treats after the ride, back at MVCC.

ORIENTATION RIDE:  Riders will of course experience all the best cycling infrastructure in Mississauga's downtown core.  But the Ride will also provide a guided orientation to the City, highlighting various points of interest along the way.  Learn about the City's Downtown21 Plan which will make our City Centre more walkable, bikeable and liveable!

FEATURES:  We will be riding past key landmarks such as the "Marilyns" (iconic towers shown in the sidebar), the Living Arts Centre and Sheridan College.  There are many trails: Burnhamthorpe Trail, Cooksville Creek Trail (short unpaved section) and newly-rehabilitated Woodington Green Trail (photos below).  We will also view public art, construction sites and find hidden gems (including built, natural and cultural heritage) located in the Downtown Mississauga area and see where the future LRT loop will be built.

RIDE WITH GPS!  [Distance: 14.8 km round-trip]
